I don't think that's right, Larry. That's not the way most other applications behave. I have numerous applications that all use 3D coloring for forms/pages/grid borders, etc. Besides being standard, there's a practical reason for the 3D form/page coloring.
If your users don't want white forms (which will be very bad contrast for textboxes, editbixes, listboxes, etc.), then they will have to switch the Control Panel Windows color to some other color, in turn making their Word docs, etc, the same other default color, if you see what I'm getting at. Some applications (like Word) can have background colors changed back to white, of course, but others cannot, and you are forcing the unsavvy user to tackle a task of recoloring different things.
