Hi Jean-Pierre,
>> Multiple Detail Bands using Foxfire!
There is another way to do this in Foxfire! We actually have example Requests that use multiple detail bands in the sample Preference "Demo use of Views". This Preference ships with the product along with the "Sample Data Set" Preference. Checkout the BUYNSELL and BUYNSELL2 examples. These examples use special data items created within FF!'s data dictionary that handle the collection of detail records into a formatted text string. Each data item specifies a UDF to run within the FF! generated FRX. Foxfire!'s data dictionary allows you to specify what expression you want to execute with the FRX for an individual data item. Also within the DD, you can specify that you want the expression to execute within it's own detail band.
There are a couple of big advantages to using this technique. 1) since the data item is defined within FF!'s DD, it is now available to users for adhoc reporting. 2) since the UDF that does the collection of detail records runs within the FRX and not within the SQL, you get good performance.
