I looked at all the answers to my previous threads (VFP5 EXE Problem and VFP5 Config.fpw Problem) and decided to un-install and re-install VFP5. Same problem with the EXEs, but now my OCXs wouldn't run, giving the error 0x80040112 because the key was missing in the Registry. I looked at 6-months of threads on this subject, and none of the answers worked. However, I am now an EXPERT at re-installing VFP. I've done it 4 times since lunch today :-((

Finally, I did a Registry Export of JUST the correct registry item (It's under HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT, Licenses, and starts DB4C....) from my laptop, and an import onto my desktop. My OCXs are now working fine!

Several of the threads mentioned the Registry Key, and that you could get a new one from MS Tech Support, but it was Friday evening. I wasn't aware that a Registry entry could be exported and moved to another computer, but it's simple. Export and import are on the File Menu, and you just highlight the item you want to move. You can also use the export to backup your registry before you install/uninstall software. This may help solve some of the other OCX problems we've seen about installing software that uses OCXs.
