Yes, I tried this out and the indexes do go away. Thanks for the info, I thought that was only true for the main CDX file, but I created two ADDTIONAL CDX's on two different directories and they went away when the cursor did.
Still wondering though what the advantage would be to using select statements vs views. When I tried to use a select statement for my grid, the cells in the grid disappeared when I closed the cursor to run the select again. I'm probably doing something wrong here, since I am used to using views with grids, and just requery()ing.
