Hi Jeff,
Put the cursor on the actual project folder in VSS. Right click and choose "show history." Put the cursor on the label that you want. Hightlight that entry in the history list. Click the "get" button. If you have the next dialog turned on (tools/options/dialogs) you should click recursive, build tree, make writeable. Choose the directory you want to put the files in and click okay.

This will give you the files that were labeled.

If you want to make an independent bug fix to that version, you'd do this a little differently.
