You'll need to use DDE. ... which goes a long way to answer the question, but may not go far enough. The OLE functions that you use are specific to the application that you want to talk to. When you want to talk to another application, you have to base everything on what that application understands. OLE to Word, for example, is quite different from OLE to WordPerfect and, if you want to talk to both, you have to use what works in each.
