I just bought a new motherboard and upgraded for $49. Pick up computer shopper and you will probably not find an upgrade from 256 to 512 for more than $100.

I think the burst cache increases the speed at which memory instructions are
transmitted. Some people (the people that want your money) say it increases overall system performance by 10-15%.
