......COPY is an internal command; there is no executable to run, so it will fail. if you insist on using COPY from the RUN command, you need to explicitly start a command processor instance (COMMAND.COM or CMD.EXE as applicable)
Hate to disappoint you Ed but I just used the above command from my command window and it worked fine as printed in the article!
As for the rest I made it quite explicit that I had not tried it and I was just throwing out an idea for them to try!
