I use LeadTools by Lead Technology. It works pretty nice, but I have to use it with several different scanners and that makes like more difficult because I have to have different parameters set for each scanner that's different.

Check it out. I think their website covers it. I think it costs around $495, but don't quote me on that. I scan legal documents into my VFP DB and even made a VFP form that allows me to view them, print them and edit them on screen. And then I sometimes even fax them using a different form, but directly from their saved DB in VFP.
