>>Terrific! I've never been able to figure out why the I.B. is found just about only in the Chicago area. It's one of the things I dearly miss about my hometown. To any lurkers, if you're ever in Chicago, the Italian Beef Sandwich (esecially on Gonella Bread) should be a "don't miss" (along with a trip to Uno's for pizza, and just about any decent restaurant for some beef).

>Hey, we got it here in Springfield!! It's in Illinois too (south of 80) :} Gotta love Uno's (warning, order small - it's a filler upper).
Quit it, Paul! My mouth's watering.:-)
Good advice on the Uno's. For most folks two slices will do it (but I usually manage to "force" down 3). As you know, Uno's is a chain now. I've been to them in Orlando, FL. Not quite the same as the original in Chicago, but close enough. of course, the decor is more like the trendy little restaurants (Applebee's, etc.) around malls. The original has the ambience of the Black Hole of Calcutta, but the pizza is great!
>Have you ever had a horseshoe? Meat, cheese and fries piled high on toast. The secret's in the cheese sauce.
