Pick an acronym and read, read, read, download, experiment, work into current projects, whatever, until you at least get a handle on it. (My current task is XML/XSL, which I'm testing on an IE5-browser app in development.)
Then, tomorrow, pick another. You might finish by the end of the year, at which point they'll all be obsolete. :-)
