The .prn usually is only a capture of the data stream to the printer. If you print to a PCL5 printer (HP et al), the .prn file contains PCL5 command.
I don't know any PCL viewer. If you need to preview print files, you could use a Postscript printer and preview the .ps file or you can report additionally to file with a different printer setting and use a ToTiff or ToPDF printer driver.
