You can only use the Epson ActiveX for Epson products. You also have to code for each specific OPOS printer device. For example, my apps use the TM88-II receipt printers. My code is specific for this printer. The primary specification is the number of characters per line that can be printed on the receipt.

If a user installs a different EPSON model [voice of experience here], the receipt looks like crap. My advice is to decide what you will support and stick with it. You will also need to get a receipt printer and/or cash drawer for your own development purposes.
