From the email we got today, I think your last sentence is exactly what happened. The founder wanted to retire and sold it.

I don't have a lot of say-so in how the business is run. I'm just the programmer. I'm just hoping all these other peoples' decisions don't decide me out of a job. There's not a lot of Fox work in the area and I'm not keen on learning VB.
