Hi Dennis:
At my last job, we had several hundred users on nothing but Novell servers for both FP-DOS and VFP stuff, and never had any corruption that I recall that was related to power outages per se. If the servers are on UPS's you should be okay. If power outages affect the workstations often, maybe you should invest in desktop power protector/UPS combo units for the workstations themselves. FWIW: We did have problems with the network guys incorrectly setting up the Novell file compression on the server volumes, and that was continuing to cause random problems even after I left the company...

The servers are on UPS's and continue to run. The databases stored on NT servers recover with no problems. However, several of the databases stored on Novell servers are corrupted and need to be restored or at least reindexed.
