Your suggestion sounds like it should do the trick for me as, Yes, there will only be one template used but I am a complete neophyte regarding VB script in Word.
I assumed that I could simply create a new template and then cut and paste your code into the Visual Basic Editor in Word but I get an error when creating a document using the template on the Autonew sub saying "Sub or function not defined". Any advice you can offer would be greatly appreciated
