I don't have my book with me here at home, so unfortunately I'm guessing off bad memory. (Maybe I should wait till tomorrow to post...nah)

I don't remember INIT() being the place to put your code. I thought the example in the book was a longer method name, such as postinithook() ? Also... If you did register in the correct method, did you DODEFAULT() so that the parent's INIT() code could still do its job?

And one last thing, did you have the object point to the grid, and the grid point to the object? (They both have to know about each other)
