>>This afternoon I returned to the office to do some work and I saw your messages. Thanks for your messages. If there are any new developments, I will let you know. A lot of Hong Kong people were angry about the Tienanmen Square event but people in the future will be able to tell from history whether the event was right or not.

>>>>This is a new era for Hong Kong people, but most of them MAY NOT USE TO the new Government. I knew that the foreign news are telling some "terrible" stories but not the truth.
>>>>Before 1 July 97, UK APPOINTED a Governor to HK. The members of "Real Power Centre" - Executive Council were APPOINTED by HK Governor. We didn't have any right to choose our leader and our policy. At that moment, I didn't think we have much democracy.

>>>Tienamen Square (sp?) still rings very loud here in America. As soon as the ceromonies are over 4,000+ Chinese troops will be in Hong Kong. I am just a little concerned anyone feels the need for such fire power in such a small peaceful place. Anyway, best of luch & definitely stay in touch (also hope internet will still be available to you).

>Yes please keep in touch. If you go silent we will think Internet access is lost which will not be good. But on a bright side, it will be nice to see how Hong Kong will adapt to being "truly" Chinese again.

>BTW, some american friends of mine should return today from China. They just adopted a baby there and are bringing her to live here.

Hello,
I think this is a great way to communicate with people all over the world with the same background / interests... Please keep telling how your live is changing because of the new rules. In newspapers we can read several things, but news is best from first hand....

Here is another one like 'your' LONG TAILS: Not all the Dutch are wearing woodenshoes, not everybody is living in a windmill, and NO, we are not all using / dealing drugs...

Please keep us informed...
Greetings,
Jean-Pierre
