I have a bit of a mystery. There were 16 users on my survey system and all was well for the first five hours of the day. Then, around noon, all of the PCs began to run slower and slower. The delay occurred between questions so that the caller was *waiting* while someone was on the phone.

The network administrator checked for unusual network traffic and even re-booted the server, but nothing helped.

The process to lookup the next question is a simple SEEK and was working fine for 5 hours. If there's a bug in the code, that would be fine, I could change that. But, what I'm wondering is if there might be some 'magic number' that causes VFP to slow down. I vaguely remember Clipper having such a number and if you were unfortunate enough to land on that exact number, the program could fail.

Please tell me that VFP has a magic number and how to get around it. Otherwise, I may have to pull out what's left of my hair!

Thanks in advance
