If you're having lots of memo field corruption, I'd look into the causes of that first. We've been using VFP (and many earlier versions of Fox) for many, many years and have rarely experienced any memo corruptions. (especially since we switched from Novell to NT)
Methinks you have a much more basic problem then redesigning an app!
