Topic: Visual Basic For Foxheads Part II


Following Part I presented by the NNJ Foxuser team, Matthew Arnheiter will cover the data aspects of VB. Of primary importance is ADO which is Miscrosoft's current BIG data access method for VB and other languages including VFP. Matt will touch on other access methods as well, including the VB data environment.

Matt is a member of the Flash Creative Management team and is their resident VB expert. He has also just completed co-authoring a VB related book with Alan Griver.

A word about our meeting place.

I have had this notice here for the last 3 months. Unfortunately, I have received a total of 1 recommendation. I ask everyone to make a special effort to investigate alternate meeting places.

While the management at Pizzeria Uno has been most cooperative in trying to accommodate us and make us feel at home, the restaurant is unfortunately not the most conducive place for our meetings. Our old meeting place, The
Ground Round, now the Tin Alley Grill has undergone renovations and currently does not have seating for us. While it may in the future, we cannot count on it.

If anyone knows of a suitable alternative, please let me know. I have been looking for places that meet the following criteria.

1. In the same area that we are meeting in now.
2. A restaurant with similar pricing to the Ground Round & Pizzeria Uno.
3. A separate room or private area.
4. Must be able to accommodate up to 25 people.

Please take the time to check out any places that you wish to recommend. Also, I would be interested in hearing your ideas. For example, what about a restaurant with a $20 fixed price? Is that too much? Do you agree that a restaurant makes for an ideal meeting place?

Pizzeria Uno is located about 1/2 mile WEST of Hackensack Ave on Route 4 on the WESTBOUND side. (The Ground Round was located on Hackensack Ave and Route 4.)

As you travel on Route 4 West, you will pass a Dodge dealership then a Lenscrafters. The restaurant is in the far end of the same building as the Lenscrafters.

If you are travelling Eastbound on Route 4, make a U-turn at Hackensack Ave. Exit at Hackensack Ave North then stay on your right to get onto Route 4 West.

NOTE: As we are not charged for using the restaurant as our meeting place, it would be nice if as many of us as possible actually ate there. So eat drink and be merry at Pizzeria Uno.
