Email the author, email the publisher. "Maintenance mode", yeah, right. I suppose, for instance, that Intellisense in VFP7 is a bug fix? A VFP OLE DB Provider is being written to fix some...oh, wait, there never was a VFP OLE DB Provider, so I guess there's no bugs to fix.

But I do wonder if there's much we can do about the perception. I recall that when MSFT bought Fox, the buzz at the next Atlanta COMDEX was that MSFT bought them just to gut Fox for Rushmore. Some eight years later, MSFT is still putting out new versions of VFP, but the "rumor" goes on. It doesn't help that you've even got MSFT sales reps (yeah, like they'd know) publicly saying that version x.0 is the going to be the last version of VFP.
