One caveat to using WSH to LogEvent(), I can't change the Source that is displayed in the Event Viewer. This won't work for my application at all because the client needs to be able to see that it's my application that has recorded the event and not the WSH.

I guess I'll still use a DLL or FLL to post my Log entry.
