>FWIW, IMO, general fields are pretty useless in all but a few cases- there is no way to get the content back out of the field and into a file. A better strategy IMO is to store a pth to a file on disk, and use that to navigate your app to that file.


My sentiments too. Just wanted to hear someone with experience say the same thing to be sure I wasn't missing something.

by 'storing your stuff in files' you mean storing a path to the files in a character field of a VFP table to use as a means of firing up the related app?
