Try it. Setting the txt.Value to another type at runtime completely changes it's behavior.
Put a txt on a form and two command buttons. In one click
thisform.text1.Value = date()
in the other
thisform.text1.Value = 1234
. Run the form, type some text, click a button and now you can only type the appropriate keys for that data type.
