Thanks to all for your suggestions regarding my problem installing sp3 on a win95 machine!

The file wasn't corrupted. I had used it for two other machines and it ran fine, but just to be sure, I compared all the files in the laptop with the server and they passed.

I installed mdac_typ.exe and that didn't work.

Then installed dcom95, which didn't make a difference either.

Then I thought about removing vfp and reinstalling from scratch. Add/Remove programs wouldn't do it. It said that an error had occurred.

The only thing left was to just do a vfp install on top of what I had. According to vstudio's installation, I didn't have vfp on this machine. Hmmm... interesting. Wonder how this could've happened.

Anyway, I yesed the thing to death, agreed with its stupidity and when I applied sp3 again, it worked.

Looks like somehow the windows wasn't aware that vfp was in there and thus sp3 wouldn't update anything relating to it.

Thanks for your help!

Alex
