>I can't simply import the table because the information that I need is contained in a Memo field. But thanks for your help!

What version of Access are you using? Access 97 can import VFP tables with memo fields. I just tried it and it worked. The import options can be very misleading. One choice is "Microsoft FoxPro (*.dbf)" and another is "Microsoft FoxPro 3.0 (*.dbc)". Both of them should import the memo file (*.fpt) successfully. The first choice is for FoxPro 2.x tables (with or without memo). The second choice is for tables "bound into a database" - the .dbc file (with or without memo). In that case, you still have the .dbf and maybe the .fpt.

If you have a free .dbf, select the first choice. All the .dbf files in the folder will be listed. When you import, you'll find that the memo is there. If the .dbf is actually bound in a .dbc database, you'll get the appropriate error message.

If your table is part of a .dbc, select the second choice, and select the .dbc from the list. You will then see all the tables in that database, and you can choose to import some or all of them.

If your table is part of a .dbc, but the .dbc file is missing (and if you don't care about possible relations to other tables or other stuff like that) you can free the table in VFP. Open the table, let it give you the error message, then "delete the link" to the database.

If you are using Access 95 or earlier, you may not be able to import a .dbc, since those were brand new in 1995, when both Access 95 and VFP3.0 came out.
