We do not expect anyboddy to give anything away if he does not want to. Of course everybody contributes only so much effort that he wants or can. And of course nobody expects commercial grade tested and documented code to be uploaded. But the point is that to upload (and ask or not money for it, which is irrlelvant) utilities, and not delivering the VFP source with it is shortsighted.
Sitting on one's source (so to speak) is a thing of the seventies, in order to 'capture the client'. Today this attitude makes little to no sense. If the client thinks he will get a better service (and here is the key), he get it somewhere else, whether he has the source or not.

But then you still have to do the research. What good is _that_ to the original developer?
