The feeling I got was that, worst case scenario, it would be mentioned that the event doesn't fire in the docs for VFP 7. It may, however, that 7.0 will be change to allow hidden properties to have _assign events that fire. Personally, I think having the _assign event fire on a hidden property allows for better partitioning.
