Hi Oracle types,

Maybe someone can give me a hand. I am just trying out some experiments using VFP (old fave) as a middle tier connecting to an Oracle 8i db. Microsoft IIS (4) calls the VFP application as a DLL that then tries to connect to the database using SQLSTRINGCONNECT(), specifying driver (Microsoft ODBC for Oracle), server UID and PWD.

For some annoying reason, I then get an alert box on the server console telling me that it can't find the oracle client networking software.

I have installed Net*8 (logged in as an administrator, but not Administrator) on the web server box and when I use SQL*Plus and ODBC Test on the server console I *can* get through to the database.

Has anyone else seen this behaviour and maybe got a solution.
