Hi Tina...

......Do the grids have that type of option?

Not to my knowledge.

........I don't want a 'grid' display but rather just a field that looks like a single field with the option to view additional data if a search is needed.

You might think of this. Use a text box to show a single record. In a text box event (perhpas the right click our double click event) pop up a grid to do the search or some other search routine.

Or

Use a text box to show the records and have a set of navagation buttons to move through the data. Next, previous, top, bottom, etc. In that set of buttons could be one titled search that could pop up a search routine.

OR

You could fake the appearacne of a combo by using a text box with a small command button to it right. In the click event put a routine that would pop up a grid or browse window etc.

As for the grid incremental search... I'm not sure but I know this much. I bet someone in the UT has done it!

You might want to do a search on words like grid or incremental search and see what you find. I know that there are a couple of grid improvements in the files section. I use one by Cetin Bezol that makes use of a highlight bar. I'm not sure if it has incremental search.

I'll do some more thinking on your problem and get back to you.
