Look on my website - there is a UniqueControlSource utility there specifically for this. Just a simple function call.

>I'm writing what should be a simple form to allow users to enter a user id, password, etc. Since the user id is essentially the primary key, and if I set the key to primary and a duplicate ID is added, how do I trap that error msg? Right now when the user presses OK and I do a tableupdate I get the message "Uniqueness of ID is violated." What I'd rather say is this ID is already in use...bla bla bla.
