Check out the LockScreen Property. This 'should' help &
may even make repainting a little faster. Also use
BeforeRowChange instead of AfterRowChange in Grids. Watch
you Refresh() calls -- use this.refresh() instead of
thisform.refresh() if you can. If you take note of some
of the faster methods you 'may' increase your (re)painting
from anywhere between 10 - 30%.

Yes we are all painfully aware of VFPs faults -- believe me!
But with the leap in technology between 2.x & 3.0 you must
expect some 'quirks' -- and there are plenty. But like
someone else I respect said; 'I'll take 3.0 with all it's
quirks over 2.x anyday!!!!'. I second that!

For now we are left with workarounds... =:-(
