Hi All,

OK, I knew it had to come. I am in a situation where I HAVE to use an OLEBoundControl with a General field. The client has a contract database where the clauses are currently stored in Memos and exported to Word. Not good enough. Now they want the ability to use formatting and such so the only way I know how to do it reasonably is with a General field (class=Word.Document) and bind an OLE Control to Word.

For security reasons, the information cannot be stored in physically separate DOCs or RTFs (eliminating the Rich Text Control from contention).

OK, to make a long story short I got the new Form class working, the birds are singing, the dew is on the flowers but .... ... what is the best way to get that old Memo data into the General fields? The only way I can think of is a very convoluted "run once" routine where I open a Word doc via automation, send the Memo stuff there, save it to a DOC, clear the Memo, ALTER TABLE and change the Memo to General, and then APPEND GENERAL from the DOC (and then delete the DOC). Surely, surely there has to be a better way.

Ideas?
