Java, has mentioned, need to be on for the conference. It's a good idea to Javascript on as well because some features of the Universal Thread are using it.

As for other Web sites, it depends it they use java applet or not. Most of them are detected it and will make it transparent. Here, I have defined the Universal Thread to show a message to the user if he tries to access the conference without Java enabled.
