"ON SHUTDOWN" is useful for closing EXEs, but if you have a problem that results in "Cannot Quit FoxPro" then you have left something open. Check for:

1) Views that have been changed but the data not saved or reverted

2) Transactions that have not been closed with End Transaction or Rollback

3) Hanging objects - although this is more often the cause of a FORM not closing than of VFP not closing.

You need to find what is causing the problem.
