>I created a simple DCOM server on a NT4/SP3 server. From my NT4/SP6 workstation, I tried to instantiate it from the VFP6/SP4 command window and I got 'access denied'. Not sure why I got it (since I am in the local Administrators group of each system), but no matter how much I play with the dcomcnfg.exe setttings on the server, I get 'access denied' way too fast.

If you never instanciatedthe object, there is no persistent connection. Make sure that DCOMCNFG on the server has its general DCOM setting turned on: Enable Distributed COM on this computer.
