I put a messagebox in the valid events of all textboxes. The only code I left in the form.method was to assign the recordsource for the grid. I allowed the grid to decide where each field from the cursor would go. The only property of the grid that I set was the columncount. None of the valid events fired. I even deleted the grid. And put a new one on the form. put the messageboxes in each of the columns textboxes. Still no action. But if the field was numeric, I can't enter characters. Date fields allow only dates. ????
