Can't you click on the number of messages (not the messages button, they're different) to get the list in the lower frame, and quickly cross reference your reply?

But that page only shows a HUGE ad to start paying for the UT, and the list of messages in the table, but no hyperlinks to the messages themselves. For those we must get to from the messsages listed in the top frame.
