A new machine, pre-loaded with Win 98 or Win2K comes in now, they blow off the entire setup, and install Win95B (they've got a license so this is legal). Hell, I've been arguing for 5-7 years to dump Lotus. In going from release 5 to 97, a bunch of my stuff (using DDE from 2.6) and other peoples macros broke. Was that enough to get them to switch? Nope, so I'm not hold my breath on this. In the meantime, I've still got to get this stuff out. And I doubt that I'm alone in this type of situation.

I've never said there aren't problems with current deployment. I've never said that there aren't new installations going in with Win 9x. My point is, the VFP team isn't going to do anything with this. The Windows/VS Installer and Win2K are the future and that's the way the VFP team is heading.
