That's cool. SendTo is nice for lots of stuff which I will start to use. I see TextPad has already visited there when installed. Actually what Keith wanted to do was doubleclick a prg file and go straight into editting it in VFP without VFP running it. He also mentioned the syntax coloring VFP gives which I too prefer to notepad or other come to think of it. (I had not even noticed the SendTo TextPad was there all this time) Did you see the make-do Bill Mason did? I am wondering if you know the DDE cammands if they exist. His way disables it. While I'm talking to you did you see my threa on GetShortPathName? lcShortPath = LEFT(lcBuffer, lnBufferSize) should be LEFT(lcBuffer, lnShortPathLen) I'm embarrassed it took me over an hour sorking with TRIM, AT, etc on lnBufferSize but lcShortPath still kept returning a square character at the end of the path. (And still don't know why I couldn't get that to work) Finally I stumbled over LnShortPathLen you had in there and it works
