Thanks Mike,

BTW I did get the 'e' version of your book and I am quite pleased with what I have read so far. I am taking a fairly large gamble right now with my business by moving to a SQL Server back end. In reading your "Advantages of Client/Server" section from chapter 1, I can take some comfort in knowing that my reasons for doing so match up with the advantages you highlight.

I also feel that VFP is the right "tool" for the job. I wish examples and training courses on SQL were not so "Visual Basic" oriented. If I really felt that VB was the best tool for the job, I would use it without hesitation...I am not married to any tool. To me, using VFP is a no brainer if one really looks at each of the tools strengths and weaknesses. The data oriented nature of VFP, along with the ability to create objects makes VFP the ideal "client". It is unfortunate that VB is positioned "in front of" VFP for SQL development.

Keep up the good work Mike, and I hope that your book pays you back for your contributions to the VFP community.
