IMHO, in FP 2.x it works great. In VFP, you should use it sparingly and use the table/record buffering when possible. Also you can run into a problem using the APPEND BLANK and GATHER ... if your table does not allow a NULL in any of the fields, or the table is related to a parent table using strict referential integrity (ie setting that does not allow a child record without a parent record with the same id_field value, NULL or BLANK in this case).
