>>My background is in the Calvary Chapel movement (www.calvarychapel.org) and kind of runs the gamut from some old Michael Omartian stuff (White Horse) to some Christian acid rock <g> to contemporary songs that take Bible verses as their source. A friend of mine (Mike McIntosh) started Maranatha Music and they put out a lot of neat stuff. My latest fav is a sort of reprise: It's called "First Love" and features a bunch of folks from that era. Narry McGuire, 2nd Chapter of Acts, Honeytree, etc..

I don't know Mike McIntosh, but have played piano for some guys who have put out worship tapes for them -- Bob Fitts, who has a few Maranatha albums and several for Integrity Hosanna, and David & Dale Garrett from New Zealand, who put out many of the very early Scripture in Song tapes under the Maranatha label. Today the Garretts are working all over the world, encouraging the use of "indigenous" music in worship, such as from the Maoris in N.Z. and Aborigines in Australia.

Dave,

Well, Karols says I have a good voice but it's been years since I've performed. I've thought pretty seriously about taking voice lessons actually. I'd be happy to sing what I call non-self-indulgent music. <g>

Best,
