I wound up doing my entire senior recital (including Bach Cello Suite #3 in A) from memory because I was too lazy to learn to play from the music, and, my instructor let me get away with it because he had a background in Jazz. (not because I couldn't turn the pages) It is a serious liability to a serious classical musician to not sight read. Most conservatories and music departments require it even if you are a guitar major.
