However, I think what MS is suggesting is that they've worked very hard on adding features (i.e. table/record buffering) that kind of resplace and add to the functionality so we (developers) should use these new features. I know I don't use those commands anymore in any of my VFP apps. Buffering is way cool!!!

Although, there are things that can't be done only with buffering and scatter/gather remains the easiest way.
