You are using the ODBC driver, so are you using SQLExec() to run this query? If not, are you using a remote view? The problem is most likely NOT VFP. What happens if you try select "PART" from prd where serial = '1012856' or select * ...?

You may just need to download and install version 2.5 of the MS ODBC drivers [MDAC].
