Please let me know if you find a solution to this other than OCR technology. As far as I know a PDF file is always a graphic. Text in a PDF is simply a picture of the text. Thus there is no way to directly extract text -- other than the methods you would use for any other graphic.. But I would love to know that I'm wrong on this one..
