I an having trouble in a seach on a webpage using the odbc driver of vfp and the idc file where it specifies the sql query, there are some funcions not allowed for example

select * from prod where name="TOM"

will give you all the rows with name TOM, TOMMY,TOMAS etc
in odbc idc is like set exact on for example

another
from the same idc:
select * from prod where name like('%searchparam%%%') works
but
select * from prod where name like upper ('%searchparam%%%') gives and error
where the additional %%% ar to cocatenate the wildcard

things like that that are giving me a headache
