>>>>>>>>I ran into a problem with SP4, and found the fix. To generalize, I had a form that was originally compiled under SP3. This morning I needed to do some work with it and found that if the Debugger was open when the form was run, VFP crashed. After doing some playing around (including re-compiling) I found that, for some reason the problem was with the resource file. After zapping it, everything was fine again.

I did and when the reboot got back to the windows screen it shows a little message box in the top left corner that it is setting up some programs. Well ever since then, every time I reboot the message box is there. Know any place I can check to clear this out? It does not seem to cause any problems, it is just kind of bothersome to me.

>Just to add to the discussion, I've got this same problem under NT4. The message flashes too briefly to read it, and I've scraped around the registry and WinNT dirs looking for leftovers. No big deal, but it is annoying. I guess we also have to keep in mind that it might also be part of the MDAC install or something else that's packaged with the service pack.

Someone on the newsgroups said he found a leftover MDAC reference in the

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

key of his registry. Have you looked there?
